our greatest teachers and our most loyal friends.
When we look at them we see God in their eyes.
Listen and they will tell you so much without ever speaking a word.
Oh if we could only serve as graciously as they do.
They are our companions, our protectors
and our comfort in times of need.
They gladly die to protect us yet ask so little in return—just love.
They carry us on their backs and they feed us.
If we are lost they find us.
Their God instinct is undeniable and true.
Oh God—that I may appreciate this most gracious gift and serve you by serving them.
